Juvenile Peregrine

This young female peregrine falcon was found near Orick with a badly injured wing.  With help from Arcata Animal Hospital and with daily care and physical therapy we were able to completely rehabilitate this beautiful, majestic bird.  Peregrine falcons are the fastest animal on Earth, clocked at speeds of over 200 mph in a dive withstanding 3 times the G forces of the best human pilots.  We successfully released her near Orick on August 22.  Check out the video of the release here.
