"Kidnapped" Kestrel

Patient of the Month on:
Jun 2011

This young female kestrel was found on the ground near Sacramento.  The person who found her thought she was in need of help and drove home with her to Laytonville.  Unfortunately this beautiful bird was not in need of help.  She is just learning to fly and her parents were likely nearby.  We hope to be able to release her in just a few weeks.  Remember, it is baby season and many young birds and mammals may just look like they are alone as their parents are hiding from you.  We have more information on what to do if you find a baby animal here.
